Back of the box:
After crash-landing on a seemingly lifeless planet, pilot Carolyn Fry and the

J. Johns -- encounter an army of creatures whose only weakness is light. As
night approaches and the aliens emerge, the passengers must rely on
Riddick's powerful night vision to lead them through the darkness.
The Bloody Truth:
The truth is Pitch Black is a nearly perfect film. Rich with character, special
effects, a compelling story line and terrifying aliens one could not ask for
much more. This surprise hit was so well written it spawned a small sci-fi
franchise and helped propel Vin Diesel to Hollywood A status.
The future of Riddick maybe be buried in science fiction, but the beginnings
are pure Horror. Unless you hate science fiction elements in your horror
films this is an absolute must see.
