The Bloody Truth:
There is not much to say about this film aside from the fact that it did just
about everything right! Action, horror and sci-fi blended flawlessly in an 80's
studio flick that stands up today in nearly every way. John McTierman takes
a cast of varied muscle-bound action stars and injects humanity, fear and
honor into each of them with differing effects. Somehow giving us the
feeling of terror as you slowly realize that you are now the prey for an
unknown hunter and at the same time still kicking ass and taking names.
The Bloody Truth is that over the years Predator has become a monster
movie classic and spawned books, comics, video games and a sires of films
just to touch the surface. The creature itself has sent imaginations soaring
and it seems there is no end to the sci-fi community’s love for this interstellar
hunter. All this may not have been possible without the quality of this film
and a director doing a bit more than expected with a tired action genre!
