After a brutal thunderstorm pounds a small town, the residents discover a
malevolent mist hangs over their homes, killing anyone who remains outside.
Trapped in a grocery store, a band of survivors must make a stand against
the deadly fog.
The Bloody Truth:

Frank Darabont pulls out all the stops as he creates his first horror King
Adaptation.  The Mist takes you on a 2 plus hour roller coaster of emotion,
fear and disgust.

While Darabont wants to bring us all the horror, fear and moral questions
that the King short hinted at he does so with a heavy hand.  Many events
scripted in the film seem to pander to the camera and character decisions
often happen to invoke a more intense moment for the audience or force
emotional reactions.  While this is the point of most movies Darabont
strangely fails to hide the fact within the story and it stands out taking you
away from the experience just a bit.

While the Mist falls short of Darabont’s previous works it’s non the less a
class A horror film that has its foot on the gas from the start to the end.  The
weakest link might be a bit over the top CGI work but as the movie goes on it
can be forgiven and at times even impress.
