Back of the box:

Mistaken for the character he plays in the Evil Dead films, B-movie icon
Bruce Campbell (playing himself) is kidnapped by the citizens of a small
mining town who want him to save them from a vengeful demon. At first,
Campbell thinks it's all part of an elaborate prank. But when he realizes the
demon is in fact real, he comes face to face with a second terrifying enemy
-- his own fear. Ted Raimi co-stars in this tongue-in-cheek comedy.
The Bloody Truth:

The Bloody Truth about My Name Is Bruce is that it speaks specifically to a
particular audience.  Over the top silly in both character and action, the film
offers up as many laughs as it does grimaces.   The many inside jokes and
film references require a familiarity with the B-Movie superstar and all
together the film lacks substance.  A loosely tired together cast of
characters and story is merely a vehicle to deliver Bruce to the screen
carrying a load of one liners and bad jokes.  Recommended for fans of
Bruce Campbell only!
