her life. She soon discovers that her employers, Tom (Tom Noonan) and
Mary (Mary Woronov) Ulman, are hiding a wicked, sick and twisted secret.
Ti West (Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever) writes, directs and edits this
terrifying film set in the early 1980s.
The Bloody Truth:
Classic 'baby sitter home alone' style horror that will keep you on the edge
of your seat the whole way through!
The Bloody Truth about House of the Devil is that the real "Star" of this film
is in fact the film making itself. Filmed in the late 2000s Ti West gets just
about every detail right in making this movie appear right out of the early
80s.
Film stock, locations, props, cars, dress all fit the part and with story aside
they aid to take you back to a time when horror was pure and simple and
offered huge dose's of tension and atmosphere vs CGI slimy dog monsters.
This film making trick is used to great success as the film does have it's
plot holes and weak moments but in the end most horror fans will find this
a refreshing return to early horror.
Creepy, shocking, and dark you can't help but feel all horror films about
the occult should look like this.
