Back of the box:
Ya know when that shark bites with his teeth, babe, scarlet billows start to
spread. … Just as the island resort town of Amity begins to rebound from a
spate of deadly shark attacks, a pair of missing divers and a boating
accident lead police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) to suspect the
worst. Sure enough, another great white lurks in the local waters, this time
with its sights set on a group of sailing teens -- including Brody's two sons.
The Bloody Truth:
Feeling more like a single scene from the first film stretched over 2 hours,
Jaws 2 is a very simple return to a familiar place and familiar faces.
The Bloody Truth is Jaws 2 truly plays as but a moment from the first
famous film, lacking or possibly not needing much story or depth. It does
offer us a beautiful performance by the Late Roy Scheider who shows us
the sad downward spiral into fear and paranoia.
If Jaws left you wanting just a bit more (but only a bit) then Jaws 2 is the
perfect film for you.
