Back of the box:
When Ben (Joel Moore), his friend Marcus (Deon Richmond) and assorted
strangers embark on a creepy nighttime boat trip into the bayou, their
journey takes them into the lair of Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder), a freak of
nature whose deformity has turned him into a bloodthirsty killer. Only
Marybeth (Tamara Feldman), one of the travelers, holds the secret that
may keep them alive. Horror legend Robert Englund co-stars in this comic
gore fest.
The Bloody Truth:
Welcome back Kane Hodder, too bad you’re in a movie so disgusting and
silly that it makes the Friday series seem like Oscar nominated films.
Hatchet is a quick and bloody appetizer in the realm of Slasher films.
Intense and gore driven Hatchet reinvents nothing and holds on tight to
the most simple of Slasher concepts - monster guy in woods kills dumb
people.
Hatchet is a horror film made for horror fans. It's loaded with over the top
kills and appears to be completely shameless its single minded mission.
Maybe create some sort of drinking game to this movie, or just don’t watch
it. Sorry Kane. He still does pull of one hell of a terrifying monster guy, I
will give this movie that much.
