Back of the box:

Directed by Rob Zombie, this reimagining of the original Halloween horror
flick finds Michael Myers (Tyler Mane) erroneously released from the
mental institution where he's been committed since he was 10 years old.
Immediately returning to Haddonfield, Myers looks for his little sister, Laurie
Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton) -- and has no qualms about killing anyone
who crosses his path. Malcolm McDowell co-stars as Dr. Sam Loomis.
The Bloody Truth:

What can I say about this movie that has not been said ten thousand
times?  Rob Zombie’s Halloween is a tale of two movies, a remake and a
reinventing.  It has great moments but Zombie’s idea of reality is often so
over the top that it goes against the serous sociological study he
undertakes of Michael Myers the man.  The film is also filled with
contradictions to the character at every turn.

You might say, “well this is just a damn horror movie so who cares”.  Well
Zombie makes you care by sitting you though half a movie with no stocking
and no killing.  Draw your own conclusions, this movie has a lot of Zombie
and a bit of Hollywood over production.  This is a slasher fan “must see” so
just get it over with.
