Back of the box:
Dogs aren't the cuddly companions they're thought to be in this chilling
horror film
Instead, the titular canine is actually man's worst enemy, as it leaves a
wake of death, despair and destruction in the place it once called home.
Overtaken by a ghostly presence, the animal attempts to co-opt the souls
of its owners, who are nearly paralyzed by fear and defeat.
The Bloody Truth:
This made for TV film has overtones of many cult films ranging from
Children of the Damned to Rosemary’s Baby but brings us no where near
ether.
I believe this movie will work for a very small audience. If you are starving
for ever little drop of classic occult film and you enjoy (or don’t mind)
classic Star Trek rejected special effects then Devil Dog is worth the time.
I will admit it does have a few moments but it can be a pain just to enjoy
them.
