Back of the box:

It's been 5 years since Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) tormented those
hapless Elm Street teens with his razor glove and maniacal sense of
humor. Now, he's back for revenge, with his sights set on another innocent
victim he can torture and possess. If Freddy's plan to live again succeeds,
he'll return from the dead and be free to kill anyone his twisted heart
desires!
The Bloody Truth:

Freddy’s Revenge is a well executed and thoroughly haunting chapter in
the Nightmare series.  Jack Sholder and David Chaskin pick up where
Craven left off and bring us one of the darkest and most monstrous
Freddys.  Even the make-up effects and Robert Englund’s take on the
character is greatly darker, meaner and more terrifying.

The story lacks a bit in fullness and direction but it’s easily made up for
with the Poltergeist like creepiness, emotional torture and disturbing
scenes that make up Freddy’s Revenge ( can anyone say manfacedog! )
