Back of the box:
Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) is a New York detective sent to the town of
Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of mysterious deaths. With each of
the victims found beheaded, the locals believe the culprit to be none other
than the ghost of the legendary Headless Horseman.
The Bloody Truth:
Scary dark comedy meets a action packed who done it.
Pop, horror at its finest. Sleepy Hallow is marked from the very opening
with the signature look and feel of Tim Burton’s beautifully dark and twisted
direction. The movie is the rarest of finds a ture A list horror movie. This
allows the movie to gain mass appeal with its quirky, exciting and
interesting story line fit for any Hollywood blockbuster, but it also restrains
the film from innovating. It’s hard to find fault in a such a wonderfully
directed and fun to watch movie but it does treat the story with soft and
safe producers hands. This restrains Sleepy Hollow from being nearly as
dark and impacting as it might have been.
