Back of the box:

In the wake of a devastating tragedy that killed every member of her family,
Christian missionary Katherine Morrissey (Hilary Swank) loses her faith in
God, devoting the rest of her life to debunking religious phenomena with
the principles of science. But when she's called to a small Southern town to
investigate a series of strange occurrences that appear to be biblical
plagues, she runs out of logical explanations.
The Bloody Truth:

The Reaping pulls together a good cast, high production value but lacks in
originality or a fully formed plot.  Characters are often half way developed
as if the film was forced to fit into a specific frame work that did not have
room for such things as story, plot or character.

While the Reaping is not overall a satisfying movie, it is a rare A horror film
and fans of the occult and biblical horror will surly find something to like.
