Back of the box:
After a New York harbor patrolman is murdered at the hands of a
flesh-hungry ghoul aboard an abandoned yacht, Anne (Tisa Farrow) -- the
daughter of the ship's missing owner -- teams with a newspaper reporter
(Ian McCulloch) for a private investigation. Clues eventually lead them to a
Caribbean island where the dead refuse to stay dead. A voodoo curse is at
work, and battle with the bloodthirsty zombies must be joined.
The Bloody Truth:
Zombie can be a very frustrating movie to watch. It’s slow pace, rambling
story and toughly unbelievable character actions never allow you to involve
yourself in the film. At every turn you are constantly reminded that you are
watching a low budget dated horror flick with next to no point of existing...
On the other hand you have a Zombie vs Shark battle. Need I say more?
This movie is as great as it is horrible. If you are a fan of Zombie movies
and somehow you missed Lucio Fulci’s classic go see it. The terrible
reality of flesh eating zombies is successfully captured in a few classic film
moments. This is a rollercoaster of love and hate. (mostly hate) If you are
not a fan of the classic zombie films then avoid this movie as if it were a
voodoo cursed tropical island.
